Welcome to the How to Write Fiction Blog

I'm not sure how this will go. But I wanted a place to post some of the things I've used in workshops. I also wanted to work through a number of writing exercise books and original exercises that I devise.

I have taught literature, hypertext, publishing and writing courses at Johns Hopkins University, UW Extension, Henry Cogswell College, Gilda’s Club, The Old FireHouse in Redmond WA, 826 Seattle, and the PolyClinic in Seattle. I served as Writer-in-Residence as Richard Hugo House from 2003-2005.

I've published four books of short stories and a novel.
